A message from President Richard Guarasci:
Friday, May 22, 2015 is a special day. You will graduate! After four (or more) years of being a college student, your accomplishment will be recognized; you will receive your baccalaureate degree and be welcomed into "the company of educated men and women."
Baccalaureate is a Latin word meaning the bachelor's degree, its literal meaning is bacca (berry) plus laureus (of laurel) - the kind of prize that ancient olympians received for winning a track or field event. The name remains although your prize is more valuable - a degree! For most of you, that degree represents a fair amount of hard work and sacrifice by many people; your parents and other members of your family, your teachers, probably some friends and, of course, yourself. Congratulations!
A message from Provost Lily D. McNair:
I hope you are feeling the excitement of your final semester at Wagner College. Commencement will be the culmination of years of scholarly work and achievement at Wagner. We assume that you will have completed all requirements for graduation and will be a degree candidate. I encourage you to stay focused on your goal toward successful graduation during these last months. You have much to look forward to as you continue your journey toward Commencement and future success.
As you enter the next chapter of your life as a Wagner alum, I encourage you to remain connected to the College. Come back and visit, stay in touch with your professors and remember the experiences that shaped your college years. I wish you well and look forward to congratulating you in person at Commencement.
