Wagner College was ranked among the best value colleges in America by the Princeton Review in its new guidebook, “Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck – 2016 Edition.”
Wagner was one of only three small private colleges in New York City that made the list — the others were Barnard and Cooper Union — and one of just 28 colleges or universities throughout New York State.
Wagner College has been listed in the Princeton Review’s primary college guidebook, “Best Colleges,” since it was first published in 2004.
While based on the original “Best Colleges” book, editors say that the “Colleges That Pay You Back” guide is designed to address two particular concerns of college applicants and their parents: paying for college, and graduating with a good job and paycheck.
For “Colleges That Pay You Back,” the Princeton Review developed a “Return-on-Education” rating that measures 40 weighted data points — everything from academics, cost, financial aid and student debt to statistics on graduation rates, alumni salaries and job satisfaction.
The ROE ratings were based on data collected in 2014-15 from the Princeton Review’s surveys of administrators and students at 650 colleges, plus surveys conducted by PayScale.com through April 2015 of alumni of the same schools.
