Fall 2011 theatre shows

Earlier this month, before fall semester finals rolled around and Wagner students headed home for the holidays, I had the pleasure of catching two of the fall productions from the Theatre Department.  First, I saw Lysistrata, which was exceptionally humorous and, as expected with any version of Lysistrata, full of sexual innuendo.  The cast performances were first-rate, especially Bianca Vitale who played the lead.  But I should mention that all the Wagner students did a fabulous job.

For a change of pace, I then attended My Fair Lady over at the Snug Harbor music hall.  Needless to say, I was not disappointed in any way.  Chelsea Vann played Eliza Doolittle perfectly...an outstanding job!  Brian Krinsky  and Paul Emrich showed their acting prowess as Henry Higgins and Col. Pickering, respectively.  Furthermore, Trevor Sideris captured the audience with his performance as Alfie, Eliza's father.  The dancing was sensational, as were all of the ensemble numbers.  A memorable show indeed.
