Conference-mania

Conference-mania

After attending three different conferences, in three different states, over the past two weeks...I am ready for some stable time back on campus. First, I went with several other Wagner administrators to the Jenzabar JAM in Dallas, TX. It was my first time ever in Dallas, and I am looking forward to returning sometime soon. I hope we can implement some of the good ideas and solutions we learned about, especially for financial aid.

This past week I went the NJACAC conference in Long Branch, NJ and also the NYSACAC conference at Ithaca College in NY. Conversations and topics definitely addressed the growing concern about the effects of the economy on college choice. Listening to some of my friends and colleagues from various universities and colleges made me realize more fully the changing educational consumer market we are now faced with.

I appreciated, as always, the opportunity to connect with old friends, as well as meet some new ones. I am pleased to see the caliber and character of admission and counseling professionals that dedicate their time and careers to helping students with this next step in their lives.
