Transfer Application Process

Wagner College will consider qualified students who wish to transfer from a college that is accredited by a regional Association of Colleges and Universities. Full junior status may be awarded to students who have earned an associate's degree from an accredited two year college. Transcripts are evaluated by the registrar for credit transfer only after a student has been admitted to the College.

Applications for transfer students are reviewed on a rolling basis; priority dates for applying are March 15 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester. Physician Assistant, 15-month Nursing, and Theatre Performance applicants must apply by February 15 and can only apply for the fall semester on a space-available basis.

Scholarship available for Phi Theta Kappa students
Wagner College offers an unlimited number of renewable $4,000 per year ($2,000 per semester) scholarships for members of Phi Theta Kappa. Part-time students and students with previous bachelor's degrees are not eligible. Proof of Phi Theta Kappa membership is required.

Students wishing to transfer with less than one year of college completed must also submit their high school records for review. The checklist below outlines the necessary materials for transferring. Please note: Students who were initially denied admission to Wagner College are required to complete one year of college before reapplying.

Transfer students may apply for either the fall or spring semesters at Wagner. Students with more than one year of college completed need not submit a secondary school records. It is encouraged that student submit descriptions of the courses taken at the current institution to be used by Wagner's registrar during the credit evaluation process. I plan to transfer into the Physician Assistant program

The Physician Assistant program is a combined BS/MS degree program. Students who meet eligibility requirements and have taken all pre-requisites may be eligible for the clinical phase of the program. Other students may be required to take science and liberal arts requirements prior to beginning the clinical phase.  Students may only commence clinical work for the Physician Assistant program during the fall semester.

I plan to transfer into the Theatre or Design/Technology/Management Program

The Theatre program at Wagner is a Bachelor of Arts program in either Theatre and Speech or Design/Technology/Mangement. Learn more about these programs.  This program only admits students for the fall semester. Between mid-February and mid-March, the Admissions Office will conduct an academic clearance, and those students who pass the clearance will be invited to campus for a required audition or interview.
Please be sure to declare Theatre or Design/Technology/Management as your major on your application. If you list another major on the application, the Admissions Office will not know that you intend to audition or interview, and you will be reviewed as an Undecided student.
Students are also encouraged to audition for the Music Scholarship, and to research alternative Theatre-based options: Arts Administration (a combination of Theatre and Business) and Theatre Studies.

I am a transfer student applying for the Music Scholarship

The Music Scholarship is intended for any student, regardless of major, who wishs to pursue a music interest, either vocal or instrumental. Students need not major or minor in Music to receive the Music Scholarship. To retain the scholarship, students are required to participate in an ensemble and take private lessons. To be considered, students must audition with the Music Department.
Because of the audition component to the admissions process, students are required to submit a completed application by December 15. The Admissions Office will then conduct an academic clearance, and those students who pass the clearance will be invited to campus for a required audition.
