Acceptance into this program is contingent upon successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree, a GPA of 3.0 or higher, satisfactory completion of all Nursing prerequisites, and a satisfactory score on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V). Wagner College has a program to assist graduates from other types of nursing education programs in earning their Bachelor of Science degree. Applicants must have a current Registered Nursing License. These students may receive credit from other colleges to meet the liberal arts prerequisites for the Wagner Nursing program. The last 9 units (or 30 credits) of any degree must be earned at Wagner College. Units earned through proficiency examinations, life experiences, etc. cannot be counted as part of these required 9 units. A validation of previous learning through clinical proficiency is accessed via proficiency exams and is offered upon admission through the School of Nursing. Current Wagner students interested in declaring Nursing as their major should contact the Nursing faculty.
External transfer students who have not completed all requirements to be declared a Nursing major (as outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog) will be considered Undeclared majors. Admission to the Nursing program will be officially determined at the end of the sophomore year. Please click here for more information about the Nursing program.To begin Nursing courses, transfers must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, required prerequisite courses (completed with a grade of C+ or higher), and a satisfactory score on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V) by the end of the sophomore year. Summer courses between sophomore and junior year will not be considered. The National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) sets a number of seats for the program, and the number of transfer spaces available each year is contingent upon the number of unfilled seats.
