Irena De Mario (Graduated 2007): “Duplication, Position Effects and Phenotypic Changes Associated with Bar-eye Mutations in Drosophila melanogaster:” Scanning electron microscopic studies of eye ommatidiums from the compound eyes of normal, bar and double bar mutants of Drosophila melanogaster.Irena has secured admission to D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) and will be attending starting 2009.Christina Lamb (Graduated 2008): “Teratogenic Effects of Lithium Chloride on Eye Development in Early Embryogenesis of Zebra fish (Danio rerio).” This study looks at the teratogenic effects of lithium chloride exposure on zebra fish (Danio rerio) eye development using light and scanning electron microscopy.Christina is a PH.D. student in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.Ryan Rogers (Graduating Senior 2009): The study of chromosomal aberrations in Vicia faba roots exposed to UVA and UVB Radiation. This study examines the results of UVA and UVB radiation as clastogens in Vicia faba roots.Ryan has been admitted to a PH.D program in University of Connecticut Health Center, Connecticut.Benjamin Serbiak (Junior, Biology Major): Efficacy of inorganic sunscreen blockers with various sun protection factors against the clastogenic effects of UVA and UVB light on the chromosomes of Vicia faba (fava bean)..
