Web Workshops

Faculty, staff and students are all welcome to these website workshops taught by Anna Mulé. All workshops will be one hour long and held in the IT Training Room in Spiro. These are hands-on-mouse sessions, so bring your questions and come ready to explore a new topic.

Intro to WordPress workshop: Wed, Sept 18 at 3pm

Learn how to manage a site on wagner.edu, Faculty Sites, or Student Sites. This workshop will cover the basics to get you up and running. By the end of the session, you'll know how to create new pages and posts, add photos, create a form, and incorporate social media. **This workshop will be in the library computer lab (1st floor).**

Analyzing Your Site: Friday, Oct. 4 at 2pm

Google analytics is a powerful tool to track what's working and what's not on your website. Participants in this workshop will receive access to our analytics account and will learn to track click-through rates, set goals, and make changes based on these results.

Social Media 101: Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 3pm Thursday, Oct. 17 at 3pm

Learn the basics of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms. Learn how to choose which platform to use, and how to maximize your impact for marketing, pedagogical, or personal use. If you're confused by hashtags, handles, and all the lingo, this is the workshop for you.

A Visual Web: Friday, Nov. 1 at 2pm

Websites come alive when they are visually engaging and colorful. Learn how to work with photos and video on your website. Includes how to tone and resize photos, upload photos, and embed video.

Improving User Experience (UX): Wed, Nov. 13 at 2pm

An introduction to concepts in user experience (UX) from Steve Krug's popular book, "Don't Make Me Think." Learn how to maximize the copy on your website so that your goals are clear, and so visitors find what they are looking for. Learn how to solicit feedback on your website to make improvements.
