About the Department

The Education Department at Wagner College has prepared excellent educators for service in the Tri-State area for over 60 years by providing programs based in current theory and research, requiring a strong disciplinary and general education knowledge base for candidates, and providing students with an exceptional range of field experiences to hone their craft.  The program has long been committed to inclusive education; as a result, our programs provide dual certification in both general and special education in all areas where licenses exist for both fields.  Our selective application requirements and personalized educational environment assure you of a quality learning experience.

The Department offers 12 undergraduate dual majors and a graduate program that lead to Childhood/Special Education (Grades 1-6) certification, 8 graduate Adolescent/Special Education (Grades 7-12) programs, and 3 advanced Master's degrees: Advanced Literacy, Early Childhood/Special Education (Birth-2nd Grade), and School Building Leadership.
