The Wagner College Office of Financial Aid is designed to be a resource center for families of all of our current and prospective students. Theresa M. Weimer, Director of Financial Aid

A native Staten Islander, Theresa is an alum of Wagner College, having received both her BSE and MSE here. She began her career at Wagner through the Student Employment Program as a College Work-Study student in the Office of Financial Aid. Theresa maintains membership in the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association. In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the entire office, she sits on multiple campus committees.

Susan M. Heaney, Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Susan hails from Queens, NY and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Queens College. She joined the Office of Financial Aid in August, 2005 after serving the Wagner community in the Registrar’s Office. She is primarily responsible for administering special aid programs such as Tuition Remission and TAP. Although Susan specializes in graduate students she counsels parents and students of all grade levels.

Alissa Cafaro, Financial Aid Counselor

Alissa joined the Office of Financial Aid in October 2011. After graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration, Alissa worked as a grad assistant with the Business Department and recieved a Master’s in Accounting in December of 2010. Alissa also interned at Price Waterhouse Coopers and the Interpublic Group of Companies.

Sheila Diaz, Financial Aid Counselor

Sheila is originally from Long Island, N.Y. She received her B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland. She has worked in the financial aid field since 2004. She recently joined Wagner’s financial aid team in January 2012.

Graduate Assistants

There are two Graduate Assistants who work in the Office of Financial Aid. They are the first point of contact for anyone visiting or calling. Well-trained and hard working, the Graduate Assistants are an integral part of our team and work diligently to serve the Wagner Community.

Student Assistants

Our Student Assistants are a special part of the Office of Financial Aid Staff. Under the Student Employment Program, they are specially trained with knowledge of the financial aid process. Each assistant tirelessly assists Theresa, Alissa, Susan and Sheila with special projects and perform general office duties. Their invaluable efforts are deeply appreciated by all of us.
