I know it has been a while since I have posted but I was having trouble overseas with the internet, and now that I'm back I can't wait to tell all my stories from Peru.
Well, the first tour CIS made for all of us was the city tour. I got the chance to go into places I was not able to go before since I didn't have a ticket. We got to see the inside of the main Cathedral in the main plaza, and Inca ruins that remained in the city. The highlight from the whole tour was the ride up to saqsayhuaman, or what we all called "sexywoman." It is up in the hills where the famous Inti Raymi is held every year. I will be posting photos of this place because words do not do it justice. One gets such a great view from the city up there. We stayed there till sunset approached, and then our last site was Tambomachay, a beautiful place where you see the ruins of what the Incas had done. There are canals where waterfalls run at all times.
After our last site and being exhausted from walking all over the city and sites, we passed through a factory where they taught us how to identify fake or real alpaca clothing. They taught us to recognize various textures from baby alpaca and old alpaca, and to know if a vendor wants to sell you fake alpaca. This lesson was so useful while I was over there, to know whether I was getting my money's worth or not.
Well, that's all for now, everybody, till next time.
