Bands, Brands, and the Wagner Plan

By Doug Donato On April 22, 2013 · Leave a Comment · In Doug Donato, Part of NYC
Now that I have really gotten into the groove of my job, I want to update you on what type of work I have been doing. The past few months have really allowed me to learn and grow, and I am more confident than ever that Wagner and this internship have prepared me well for what lies ahead. I work for Warner Music in the field of Brand Partnerships and Licensing. This may sound really [...]

The Road To Songfest

By Christian Grotewold On April 19, 2013 · Leave a Comment · In Christian Grotewold, On campus
My favorite time of year came and went so fast; we danced, we sang, we joyed, we sweated — Songfest was a blast! All the Greek organizations, along with Nubian Student Union and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, were part of this singing and dancing competition. Each organization had a total of 8 minutes to put on a good performance, and I must say that they all were fantastic. The crowd went wild every time someone [...]

2nd Annual Health Fair on the Oval

By Lynn Tay On April 19, 2013 · Leave a Comment · In Lynn Tay, On campus
There is no better way to enjoy a Thursday than to have an oval day. Although it was not a typical sunny oval day, it was a lively one because of the 2nd annual Wagner College Health Fair.  I had a fun time with members of various clubs on campus who were raising awareness about health, fundraising money for good causes, and having a fun time at the different activities. As students passed by [...]

On a Serious Note

My dear reader — I address you as dear because that’s what you are to me. You take the time out of your day to read this and some of you even come back for more. Though I do sometimes worry if my audience consists of only my mom. If it does, hi mom, and yes I did finish my homework and no I’m not ditching class. But whether you’re my mom or some random [...]

Wagner-filled weekend

Dancing, Singing, and Cheering — both in and out of the water

By Lynn Tay On April 15, 2013 · Leave a Comment · In Lynn Tay, On campus
This weekend was a jam-packed weekend for me! I have not danced, cheered, and sang this much in two days for a very long time. I showed a lot of school spirit this week and it was a weekend I will not forget anytime soon. Saturday night I attended an event called Songfest. Songfest is a dancing and singing competition for organizations on campus who compete for the top three spots for the best performance [...]

On Thursday, April 11, 2013, twelve new members were initiated into the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society at Wagner College (also known as Tri Beta).  I was honored to be one of the twelve students who were selected to become a part of this society. Staff and faculty members from the biology department attended the ceremony, as well as friends and family members of the newly inducted members.  The current president of Tri Beta [...]

Public Speaking

By Christian Grotewold On April 10, 2013 · Leave a Comment · In Christian Grotewold, On campus
One of the many aspects of being in a liberal arts college is the fact that we are required to take certain classes. These classes are called “general education,” and they vary from science to theatre. One of the courses that every student has to take at Wagner College is Public Speaking. It is a requirement because no matter what field you decide to go into, you will always have to speak in front of [...]

Admitted Students Day: Study Abroad Panel

By Christian Grotewold On April 8, 2013 · Leave a Comment · In Beyond NY, Christian Grotewold, On campus
On Saturday, April 6, Wagner College had its annual Admitted Students Day. We welcomed students from a wide range of places; one even had Guatemalan descent like me! This day was dedicated to all those students who have gotten an acceptance letter from Wagner College, and they were welcomed to spend the day on our campus. Admitted students began their day with a nice brunch at our dining hall, which was accompanied by a welcoming [...]

There’s a Zombie in my Living Room

By Megan Irving On April 8, 2013 · Leave a Comment · In Megan Irving, On campus
It’s official, the dead are bigger then the living. I was having a conversation with my father late last night, my mother was in the living room watching “The Walking Dead,” and my brother was asleep. My father, having just put my younger brother to bed, made a phenomenal observation: “His generation is growing up with zombies.” It’s true, zombies are everywhere. “The Walking Dead” has taken over Facebook, Twitter and BuzzFeed. Brad Pitt will [...]

AIR — Something We Feel, but Cannot See

By Lynn Tay On April 5, 2013 · 1 Comment · In Lynn Tay, On campus
Over spring break, a Wagner swimming and diving teammate, Meredith Ketchmark, sent out an e-mail to our team to ask us to lend a helping hand to an organization dear to her heart called Attitudes in Reverse (AIR).  AIR is a non-profit organization run 100% by volunteers.  All proceeds are raised through donations and fundraisers which the organization hosts. We made a Harlem Shake Video to show our support for AIR. See the Wagner [...]
