The Wagner College Theatre Department invites qualified applicants for a tenure track position starting in the academic year 2014-15.
Wagner College Theatre is a competitive, nationally recognized undergraduate program. Established 45 years ago with an emphasis in Musical Theatre, today the department features a faculty and alumni who work at the highest levels of the profession, with graduates having garnered Tony, Drama Desk, and other such distinguished accolades.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Wagner College Theatre seeks an experienced acting teacher with at least 5 years teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Stanislavski based yet multi-faceted methodology is preferred, with possible specialization in physical theatre, vocal training, clowning, viewpoints, period styles, film acting, or other related areas.
The candidate needs the ability to work within a department that provides students with a strong liberal arts background combined with intensive training in Theatre, particularly Musical Theatre. A strong collaborator and team player is essential. The ability to direct is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach beginning, intermediate and advanced acting classes; student academic advising and mentoring; department and college service.
QUALIFICATIONS: MFA in Acting or PH.D. Professional credits and affiliations. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills required. Basic computer skills. Benefits included.
