Wagner student panelist at National Press Club briefing

Wagner College anthropology major Daniela Gutierrez de la Garza, a senior from Durango, Mexico, was one of three student panelists at a Jan. 20 National Press Club briefing organized by New American Colleges & Universities, a consortium of institutions like Wagner that offer a comprehensive education uniting the liberal arts with professional studies and civic engagement. In her opening remarks, Gutierrez talked about her research on “Understanding the Impact of Government-Indigenous Community Relations in Durango, Mexico.” She also fielded questions about liberal education, residential colleges and why she chose Wagner, among other subjects. The panel was introduced by NAC&U President Nancy Hensel and moderated by author Bill Sullivan.
