The following tutoring services are available in the Horrmann Library:
Research Intensive Tutors [RITs] - Research Tutor Desk (main level)
RITs are trained by librarians to assist students in their preliminary research. They can help students find books, articles, relevant web content, and citation style manuals. The Research Tutors' desk is located on the Main Level of the library. RITs work during fall and spring semesters only, and fall semester work begins in the 3rd week of classes. RITs are supervised by librarians, contact Cathy Perkins for more information.
Fall 2013 - RIT work begins the week of September 9
RITs will be available during the following hours:
Sundays 2:00pm - midnight
Mondays 9:00am - 5:00pm & 6:30pm - midnight
Tuesdays 2:30 - 10:00pm
Wednesdays 9:00am - 5:00pm & 7:00 - 11:00pm
Thursdays 1:00pm - midnight
Saturdays 9:00am - 2:00pm
RITs do not work during holidays, breaks, or during finals.
Writing Intensive Tutors [WITs] - Writing Center (main level)
WITs can help students improve their writing skills and will read and review student papers for writing and citation styles. The WIT office is located on the Main Level of the library, in the glass office at the front of the library. WITs are supervised by the Center for Academic and Career Engagement. Peer Tutors - Study Center (lower level)
Peer tutors offer one-on-one subject-based tutoring. Peer Tutors usually meet with students on the Lower Level in the Study Center. Peer Tutors are supervised by the Center for Academic and Career Engagement. See the Peer Tutors website for more information.
