Intern Spotlight: Mariah

This semester, the Department of Lifelong Learning welcomed 11 students from local high schools and Wagner College to our intern program. In this series, we'll introduce you to the talented students who are helping us make a difference in the lives of our Staten Island community.

Mariah

We sat down with Mariah, a senior at Curtis High School, and asked her a few questions about her goals.

Favorite Subject: Math

What do you want to be when you grow up: A radiologist or a teacher

What college/university would you love to go to: Oneonta

Why did you want to do an internship in high school: I wanted to gain experience working in an office setting. I felt that this would be good practice for the future and help with my resume.

How did you learn about this internship: Through the Work, Learn & Grow Employment Program provided by the Department of Youth and Community Development

How is this program helping your achieve your career goal: This program is helping me enhance my research skills. I'm also developing a good work ethic.

Fun fact: I play golf!
