Saudi newspaper runs story on Wagner College Eid Al-Adha celebration

New York: Students celebrate Eid el-Adha and the national day at Wagner College

Al-Riyadh newspaper, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Oct. 4, 2015 — Saudi students celebrated the blessed Eid el-Adha at Wagner College in the presence of college deans and faculty and exchanged wishes at Masjid Un-Noor, located near the college. The student Abdulrahman Khan, a member of the Muslim Student Association, led the prayer.

The student Yousef Alrajhi, one of the celebration organizers, said, “We are celebrating Eid el-Adha far away from our beloved country, and our reunion today with our brother students eases our homesickness. I am very thankful to the administration of Wagner College and to our consul’s cultural section. I cannot express how happy we are to celebrate the Muslim holiday. I would like to present my congratulations to all Muslims, asking God almighty to gather us. Our hearts are all united for God almighty.”

He added, “I saw many of my brothers in New York from all countries, all united for the love of God, who blessed us with these memorable moments. I also thank our thoughtful government, which sent us here, for taking care of youth and leading them to prosperity and development in all its aspects. Congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and God help you to do good. I would like to congratulate the Saudi people and our government for the national holiday.”

The student Arwa Al-Turkistany from Long Island University in New York said that this celebration allowed students and the college to know more about this holy day, and she presented her congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and to the Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince, asking God for his blessing.
