She came to the United States in 2000. She then began studying flute seriously, taking lessons with Virginia Shulze-Johnson. She was accepted to North Jersey Intermediate Region Band in 7th grade. She played in the New Jersey Youth Orchestra in 2001-2002. After moving to Staten Island, she was accepted to La Guardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts, which she currently attends, and began studying with Gretchen Pusch. As a Freshman, she played in All-City Band and Orchestra. In her sophomore year, she played in ISO Concert Orchestra as a Principal flutist. She will be attending Juilliard Pre-college in 2004-2005, and will be studying with Brad Garner. She will be in both La Guardia’s senior band and orchestra in her junior year. She has participated four years of Drew Summer Music and New Jersey Flute Choir Day. She also takes private lessons in piano with Zelma Bodzin. She volunteers to play piano in Sunday church services and teach in Sunday School.
