An Afternoon with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor + Dinner

September 16, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Justice Sotomayor will hold a Q &A session moderated by Grissele Camacho, Esq. and a signing line afterward. Questions will be pre-screened and must be submitted in advance to the Library. Please note that the Justice will not be answering any questions directly from the audience. Nor will she answer any questions relating to the conduct and opinions of others, or current issues, including those that may come before the court. In order to submit a question, you must register for the event on Eventbrite. An email survey will be sent out several times soliciting questions for the Justice. This is a free event but due to limited space online registration is required and will be on first-come-first-served basis. The last day to register and submit questions is Thursday September 6, 2018 by 11:59 PM. A limited number of standby seats may become available on the day of the event. If that happens, the Library will make an announcement about where and when to line up for the standby tickets. Alternately, you may also contact Rob Latz at rlatz@npl.org and 973-733-7780 to RSVP. Each registrant is allowed up to two (2) tickets and a copy of one of the following books for free, while supplies last: Turning Pages: My Life Story, Pasando Paginas: La historia de mi vida (Spanish Edition) or The Beloved World of Sonia Sotomayor. The Newark Public Library is extremely grateful to the Friends of the Hispanic Research and Information Center for providing the funding to purchase these books.

Please direct any questions and media inquiries to Rob Latz, at 973-733-7780 or rlatz@npl.org. Please email intercultural.advancement@wagner.edu after you have RSVP for the event. We are coordinating transportation and Dinner after the event.
