Presidential Debate viewing party and panel

For the first 2016 Presidential Debate, Wagner College’s Hugh L. Carey Institute for Government Reform has a full evening of activities planned, starting at 6:30 p.m. in Foundation Hall’s Manzulli Boardroom.

From 6:30 to 8 p.m., we have scheduled a panel discussion about the election with three Wagner alums:
• Michael Amato ’06, a political science professor at Albright College
• Stephen Brooker ’08, New York chapter co-chair, Center for International Maritime Security
• Matthew Hedge ’07, acting co-chair, History and Social Sciences, St. Jean Baptiste High School. Co-author of a teacher’s guide to David McCullough’s “1776.”

From 8 to 9 p.m., stick around to enjoy refreshments and conversation in Manzulli.

Then, beginning at 9 p.m., watch the first Trump/Clinton debate, moderated by NBC’s Lester Holt — a 90 minute broadcast, with no commercial interruptions.

Following the debate, talk with Staten Island Advance political reporter Rachel Shapiro about your reaction to the candidate and moderator’s performances.

(Next month, join us on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. in Spiro 2 for another program preceding the third presidential debate viewing at 9 p.m.)
