All events for ‘Solo dell’Arte,’ a performance with masks
On Friday, Feb. 22 at 4:30 p.m. in the Stage One studio theater, please join us for “Solo dell’Arte,” a one-man presentation by Carlos Garcia Estevez, artistic co-director of Teatro Punto.
Carlos Garcia Estevez is the founder and artistic leader of Teatro Punto. He trained for 3 years with Jacques Lecoq at his École Internationale de Théâtre in Paris and at Le Laboratoire d’Etude du Mouvement. Motivated by Jacques Lecoq, Carlos began his research into the tragic depth that exists in Commedia dell’Arte. Carlos has toured with his solo show in Spain, France, the Netherlands, Romania, Italy, Turkey, Cyprus, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
“We have a long relationship with Teatro Punto,” said Wagner College Theatre professor David McDonald. “They are teaching partners in our Expanding Your Horizons course in Amsterdam. Their workshops here this February center on masked performance work in the Commedia dell’Arte tradition.”
