Rev. Michel Faulkner, an all-star football player for Virginia Tech who later played for the New York Jets for one season, has lived in New York City since 1988. Faulkner has dedicated his life to helping the disenfranchised and the poor. Event organizers say that he represents the values that are needed in a new mayor.
