2013 Dance Project, 'Rove'
From Ashley Burger's 'Idle Fusion'

Wagner College’s Stage One studio theater is staging the final production of its 2012-13 season: the annual “Dance Project” program of new, original choreography. This year, the show features five original dances directed and choreographed by Wagner alumni and students.

Student choreographers include:

  • Kara Krichman, “Ilium”
  • Jenny Kelly, “Gaea,” created in response to Hurricane Sandy
  • Jacquie Jablanski, “Realm Love”

The dances of two Wagner College Theatre alumni are also featured in this year’s show. Ashley Burger has choreographed a piece called “Idle Fusion.” Jon Basla’s meditation on rebirth and reawakening for six dancers, “Rove,” highlights senior Kelly McCue.

Rusty Curcio, WCT’s head of dance, supervises the choreography for this show.

The 2013 edition of WCT’s “Dance Project” runs from Tuesday, April 30 through Sunday, May 5. Evening performances at 8 p.m. run Tuesday through Saturday; matinee performances at 2 p.m. run on Saturday and Sunday. For tickets, visit the box office in Main Hall or call 718-390-3259.
