Please join us on Monday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in Spiro 2 for an evening orientation on the Port Richmond community and Wagner's partnership with it. History professor Lori Weintrob and Hunter College professor Pablo Vengoechea — who did an extensive analysis of Port Richmond’s growth potential with his Urban Studies class — will speak about the history of Port Richmond. We will also hear from a panel of Port Richmond residents and from students who have had experience in Port Richmond. Los Potrillos Restaurant, a Port Richmond Partnership member, will serve food for the event. Space is limited, so RSVP to Steve Preskill.
On Monday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Foundation Hall’s Manzulli Boardroom, please join President Richard Guarasci and Wagner College’s Chai Society for a screening of the Academy Award-winning documentary film, “Strangers No More.” President Guarasci will moderate this program, which highlights the Bialik-Rogozin School in Tel Aviv, which the president visited earlier this year. This is first event in the Chai Society’s Jewish Culture Series, whose 2013-14 theme is “Current Issues in Israeli Politics.” The series is co-sponsored by the Staten Island Jewish Community Center. To RSVP, email the Chai Society or phone 718-390-3225.
