On Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. in Foundation Hall’s Manzulli Boardroom, please join us for a screening of “Cinema Paradiso,” sponsored by the Da Vinci Society of Wagner College and the Department of Modern Languages.  A filmmaker recalls his childhood, when he fell in love with the movies at his village theater and formed a deep relationship with the theater’s projectionist.  A meditation on cinema and memory. To RSVP, email Jenny Kelly or phone 718-390-3414.


Stage One: ‘Scab’

131008 Scab (WEB)Wagner College Theatre opens it Stage One studio theater season with “Scab,” a play by Sheila Callaghan, running Tuesday, Oct. 8 through Sunday, Oct. 13.

Both a coming-of-age love story and a spiritual awakening, “Scab” focuses on two grad school roommates from very different backgrounds.

Directed by theater professor David Ledoux, Wagner’s Stage One production features performance majors Lisa Peterson (Anima), Dana Gough (Christa), Melissa Silano (Mary-Androgyne/Kelle/Mom), T.J. Lamando (Alan/Artie/Davie/Angel Two) and Nicole Amato (Jenna/Angel One).

Wagner’s production design team includes Elise Sacco (sets), Dominga Noe (costumes), Elise Pizzonia (lights) and Patrick Richards (sound). Jeana Shea is production stage manager.

“Scab” was first presented at the Women’s Expressive Theatre in New York City in 2002. Subsequent productions were staged by Eternal Spiral Productions in Philadelphia, Impage Theatre in Berkeley, Cal., and the Blue House Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Wagner College Theatre box office is located in Main Hall, telephone (718) 390-3259 or email boxoffice@wagner.edu. Box office hours are Monday through Friday, 12 to 4 p.m. Season subscriptions ranging from $60 to $104 are available now.

Showtimes are Monday through Saturday at 8 p.m., with a matinee on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

All tickets for all performances of “Scab” are $10. Wagner College students, faculty and staff attend free with current ID.
