Public Safety Day

In our continuing effort to serve the Wagner Community we will be hosting the first "Wagner Public Safety Day".

The following agencies will be on campus so please stop by and say hello.
-Wagner Public Safety: what we do for the Wagner Community.

-FDNY: They will have information on Fire Safety in the home and workplace. *Also will have a limited number of 9 volt batteries, to replace the one in a smoke detector.

-NYC Office of Emergency Management: They will have information on preparing for emergencies in the home, and “Ready-N.Y.”

-NYPD, Domestic Violence Unit: They will have information on the prevention of domestic violence, and how to report it.

-NYC Anti-Violence Project: Will have information about their work with LGTBQ community.

-NYPD 120 Pct: Will have information on crime prevention in the home and the office.

-U.S. Postal Inspectors: They will have information on how to prevent identity theft.

ACE speaker Melissa Katz

Education professor Jason Fitzgerald is hosting an event with an educational activist, Melissa Katz, who is on the front lines of the fight against high-stakes standardized testing in schools. Her blog explores the ways in which high-stakes testing is being unethically used in schools to rank students and teachers. In addition to her blog, she is also involved in community organizing and has provided expert testimony to the New Jersey Board of Education regarding the topic. Katz has been invited to speak about her experiences as an educational activist and the ways in which the pro-testing movement has evolved in schools today, providing an example of civic engagement in education and an overview of a topic that has increasingly impacted students for more than a decade.

Latina Poetry Reading, Women’s History Month Event

Celebrate Women's History Month with three Latina authors reading from "Breaking Ground: Anthology of Puerto Rican Women Writers in New York: 1980-2012."
The event will take  place  in the Coffeehouse on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm.

Anthony Turner Faculty Recital

The Wagner College Music Department presents international faculty baritone Anthony Turner in recital.

The performance will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 7 o'clock pm in the Campus Hall Performance Center.

The concert will feature works by Henry Purcell, Richard Strauss, and Richard Danielpour as well as Negro Spirituals. Pianist Ok Kyun Kang and violist Jessica Meyer will join Mr. Turner.

Mr. Turner has performed with Opera Ebony, Cleveland Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Theatre di Lucca, Dance Theater of Harlem, Cincinnati Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, and the United States Air Force Band.

Mr. Turner serves as Professor of Voice at Wagner and is at NYU Tisch School of the Arts - New Studio on Broadway.
