Wagner International Film Festival: “Jean Gentil”
The Film and Media Studies, Modern Language and Art Department will be hosting Wagner's first International Film Festival October 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27 and 28 2015 from 7:30pm-10pm in Manzulli Board Room.
Night Two we will show "Jean Gentil" followed by a talk back with Director Laura Amelia Guzman.
"Jean Gentil" premiered at the Venize Film Festival, and follows the journey of Haitian immigrant Jean Remy Genty, a French teacher looking for work in the Dominican Republic. This journey takes him from the urban bustle to the jungle. This is a stunningly photographed and poignant film, especially in light of Dominican Republic's immigration debate, which in many ways mirrors our own.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Catherine O'Brien will be leading an educational awareness regarding breast cancer research, detection, and treatment.
