Screening of “Four Good Women”

November 12, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Foundation Hall Manzulli Board Room

You are cordially invited to a screening of Barbara Wesby's 30-minute documentary “Four Good Women, Part I--the libretto” on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 7:30 pm in the Manzulli Board Room, Foundation Hall, Wagner College.

This 30-minute documentary, filmed by Wagner staff member Anna Mule, follows Ms. Wesby in the process of developing the libretto for her 4-character opera, using four singers as character prototypes.

Also contributing to this project were Kelly Birgfeld, Wagner College Music Department faculty (voice), Emily Thornton, 2015 graduate, who will be portraying a mother/daughter; and Carla Wesby, professional soloist and choral singer and Sylvia Maisonet, a junior Music Major at Wagner. The video includes arias, interviews and a round table discussion with the four characters and the composer.

The event is free and open to the public.

Following the screening, attendees are encouraged to fill out a short questionnaire concerning the film and the project.

This project was made possible by a grant from Staten Island Arts with funding from NYSCA.
