Social Justice Dialogue: Reclaiming Islam
CICA Presents...A series of dialogue-based panels, lectures, film screenings, and other creative mediums through which you will engage in critical conversations in a safe space with fellow students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members regarding intersections of identity, as well as national & international social justice issues of our time.
Discussion on December 8 will be on "Reclaiming Islam: Perspectives from a Convert"
Description: In the wake of the horrific attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, we will discuss Islam, extremism and Anti-Muslim backlash.
We would like to have an open and honest discussion, so please bring your questions and concerns.
Lunch will be provided.
LC6-PRHS Poster Presentations
Students from freshman learning community LC6 and the Critical Analysis class at Port Richmond High School are presenting posters on the results of their collaboration to evaluate the validity of "scientific" messages presented on the web or by the popular press.
Vocal Jazz Set
An hour of great vocal jazz, gospel, blues and standards with Stretto and Espresso vocal ensembles and fine soloists, including Lisa Condemi, Michala Williams, Emma MacDonald, Ariel Ubaldegaray, and Dorian Lake. The program will feature classics by Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, John Coltrane, Bobby Timmons, "Sweets" Edison, TAKE 6 and more!
