La Cage Aux Folles

April 30, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Main Hall Theatre, Staten Island, 10301

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES
Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein’s musical, based on the hit French play and movie of the same name, is the story of a flamboyant gay couple who must pretend to be straight for one night — with one of the men in drag — to dupe the conservative political family of their son's fiancee.

Directed by WCT’s Rusty Curcio (Iolanthe/CATS), the multi-Tony Award-winning La Cage Aux Folles is a musical filled with delightful spectacle and great heart.

To purchase tickets call the Wagner College Box Office at 718-390-3259.

STUPID F**KING BIRD

April 30, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Stage One Theatre

“Stupid F**king Bird” by Aaron Posner, directed by Mickey Tennenbaum. On the grounds of a country estate, two generations of Russians mope and love and hate in this heartbreaking, hilarious sort-of-adaptation that takes a baseball bat to Anton Chekhov’s “The Seagull.” Welcome to the wild world of “Stupid F**king Bird,” where Chekhov’s story of love, art and a hapless bird gets an hysterical, contemporary makeover.

‘Unveiling the Greek Sphinx’

April 30, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Greek Sphinx always has been a fascinating topic. From the Renaissance to the present day there has been much speculation about the figure. Its encounter with Oedipus as well as the famous riddle are the main part of the mystery, and its true nature and function have never been clearly explained. We shall see that the key lies in its Near-Eastern background, in particular the "Kerubs" in the Old Testament. However the images on Greek vases and Oriental objects are at least as important as the texts and a major source to solve the riddle.
