Study Break with GC

February 8, 2016 @ 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Main Hall 13, Staten Island, 10301

Generation Citizen will be hosting an Information Session for recruiting new members. We are looking for engaged students to start making a change in their community. A national non-profit, Generation Citizen is seeking service oriented Wagner students to serve as teaching interns for the upcoming Spring semester. Generation Citizen Democracy Coaches partner with teachers in public school classrooms and teach an innovative action-based civics curriculum. You will teach students how to identify a community issue that matters to them, create an action plan to address the issue, and then take real-world action on it. Your students will lobby elected officials, write opinion pieces for newspapers, and make documentaries to advance solutions to important community issues. Each semester culminates in a Civics Day, in which students present their projects to elected officials and community members in Manhattan.
