Take a Reading Day break and chill out to some fine jazz, blues and classic American pop. The Vocal Jazz Set will have some fine tunes for you to savor and enjoy. We will feature several very high-powered alumni and student performers. The Babino Brothers, Anthony ’09 and Steve ‘13 (Sons of Origin), just back from months of recording and gigs in Florida will make a guest appearance. The amazing recording artist, singer-song writer, multi-instrumentalist Dorian Lake ’02 will perform. Michala Williams ’17, who just sang at the Metropolitan Opera with Kathleen Battle, will sing. And Charlie Romo ‘18, who just wrapped up his run at the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan will perform as well.

Stretto vocal ensemble will perform and premiere several new arrangements. The Chamber Singers will reprise my most recent jazz psalm. We will have a fine band on hand.

There will be hard bop, wisdom songs from Oscar Brown, Jr. and Abbey Lincoln, swinging standards, funky R & B, jazz/gospel alla TAKE 6, blues with a lot of attitude, modern jazz and a bit of jazzy holiday music.
