On Tuesday, former Wagnerian editor Gene Barfield ’75 and his husband, Tim LaCroix, of Boyne City, Mich., got some extraordinary news: They have been invited to the White House.
The invitation reads, "The President requests the pleasure of your company at a reception in celebration of LGBT Pride Month to be held at The White House on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at four o'clock."
This follows upon Gene and Tim's history-making wedding on March 15, the first legal same-sex ceremony to be held within the state of Michigan. You can read more about the wedding in our Newsroom or in the Staten Island Advance.
Read more about Gene's reaction to the invitation, and leave your congratulations for the couple, on the Tim & Gene's Wedding Celebration Facebook page.
