Wagner College needs your help to identify exceptional Staten Island school teachers, administrators, college professors and community educators for the annual Wagner College Distinguished Educators Awards. Just complete the online nomination form by March 17. The award ceremony will be held on June 8.
Recognize excellence in education
Caring, curious, competent and committed teachers and school leaders who tie their work closely to the needs of their communities aren’t just valuable people — they are the very lifeblood of a healthy society. Without such teachers, we inevitably falter. With them, our children thrive and a brighter, more prosperous future is secured for all.
Celebrate educators in your community who make a difference. Honor that special educator whose high expectations and support has led to high student achievement.
Come and join Wagner College’s celebration of these esteemed educators. Wagner College President Richard Guarasci, Wagner’s Education Department faculty and the New Educators at Wagner Advisory Committee want your nominations of outstanding educators.
Teachers or principals nominated for a Distinguished Educator Award must be either (1) a Wagner College graduate, or (2) an educator who lives or works on Staten Island, and:
- Have 5 or more years of experience as a K-12 teacher or principal
- Be an educator whose impact extends well beyond the school walls
- Inspire youth to make a difference in their own lives and/or the lives of others
