Presented by Provost Devorah Lieberman:
Two separate faculty members of the Wagner College community nominated psychology professor Amy Eshleman for the 2010 Faculty Service Award. Dr. Eshleman has managed to bring her disciplinary expertise deep into the service and work of Wagner College. She has accomplished this through her sophistication in experimental design. Examples of these contributions abound. A few of them include: creating rubrics and analyzing data for departmental assessment purposes, designing surveys for the First-Year Program, contributing to various Middle States assessment committees, and being the “evaluator” and “research consultant” on numerous Wagner College grants.
In her 9 years at Wagner College, Dr. Eshleman has served and continues to serve on a variety of elected and appointed committees. These include: the Diversity Action Council, the Academic Honesty Committee, the faculty committees for the First-Year Program and the Intermediate Learning Communities, the college’s Internal Review Board, and service as the Departmental Assessment Liaison for psychology.
Dr. Amy Eshleman demonstrates a commitment to the continuing success of the college that few others have been able to do. Serving on committees should be recognized, but Amy does so much more than that. She brings her academic expertise and love for research to the rest of the campus, making herself and her expertise available to individuals, to grantor and grantees, to committees, to her department, and to the college at large.
