Here are descriptions of gatherings scheduled on campus today in response to last night’s presidential election.
If you know of other gatherings being planned for today, just email lee.manchester@wagner.edu to have information about them posted here. Please include time, location, and a brief description.
12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Union Multicultural Lounge (old Union mail room)
Now that the country has elected Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States, the Division of Campus Life and the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement would like to invite you to join us for a little post-election pizza and conversation. This election cycle has been described as one of the most divisive in generations. As our nation begins to come together to support our next president, we want you to think about how you can still advocate for the issues important to you, regardless of party affiliation. Students are encouraged to stop by the Multicultural Lounge (formerly the mail room in the Union) for a place to reflect and a space to connect with other members of our community.
4 to 5 p.m.
Sutter Oval (or nearby indoor space, in case of rain)
Members of the Wagner community are invited to gather on the Oval with guitars, drums and make some music — “protest songs, show tunes, hymns, we’ll see what transpires,” organizers say. “But all folks are invited to bring a candle, a blanket, and join us for some harmony.”
