Photographer, biographer discuss García Márquez (todo en español)

On Friday, April 25 at 11 a.m. in Campus Hall 201, please join Prof. Margarita Sanchez and her EYH class, “Stories of Love and Death in García Márquez,” for a visit with noted Colombian photographer Nereo López Meza, who documented Gabriel García Márquez’s journey to Sweden to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, and with novelist and journalist Gustavo Orango, author of “Un ramo de nomeolvides (A Bouquet of Forget-Me-Nots),” an early biography of García Márquez. Filmmaker discusses immigration, rights

On Wednesday, April 30 at 5 p.m. in Campus Hall 201, please join the ACE program for a lecture by filmmaker Jorge Torres, “A Hard Day’s Work: Using Video for Social Justice.” Torres directs many programs at Port Richmond’s El Centro del Inmigrante that promote the empowerment of immigrants of varying documentation status.
