On Friday, July 25, at the end of Wagner College’s 6-week Washington Fellowship institute, faculty and fellows came together with administrators and community partners for a farewell program in Foundation Hall’s Manzulli Boardroom. The introductory part of the program featured greetings from President Richard Guarasci, Assistant Vice President for Campus Life and Internationalization Ruta Shah-Gordon, and Trustee Laura Graham. In the final part of the program, led by Johannes Arthur of Ghana and Magdalene Kelel of Kenya, the Washington Fellows recognized several individuals who had been particularly helpful during their stay at Wagner. Araba Hammond serenaded the gathering with a song from her native Ghana, and Brian Magwaro led the group in a skit used in Kenya to raise awareness of the mosquitoes that spread malaria.
