Dr. Dorothy Murgatroyd

Dr. Murgatroyd took her PhD in social psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959 with the dissertation entitled "Effect of prior group membership on conformity." Her Ph.D. adviser may have been Dr. Albert Pepitone who was known for his injection of cross-cultural approaches into his research in social psychology.

She was a classmate of and later collaborated with renowned psychologist Florence Denmark (see example below). She taught both social and physiological psychology at Wagner.

After Wagner College, she took a position on the faculty at Lehman College, City University of New York.
