The Residential Peer Educator has the same responsibilities as traditional Peer Educators, with additional responsibilities to the First Year Residential Experience Program (FYRE) in Harborview Hall. These additional responsibilities are specific to helping create community for first year students. Residential Peer Educators must live in Harborview Hall on a first year floor. Residential Peer Educators will serve as a role model and leader for first year students throughout the academic year. Residential Peer Educators will also be paired with Resident Assistants and floor communities.
Additionally, Residential Peer Educators are members of the Harborview Residential Education Staff and will report directly to the Harborview Hall Resident Director in addition to the Peer Educator supervisor.
The intent of this document is to guide PEs in the performance of their job responsibilities and to outline expectations from the Office of Residential Education. The Office of Residential Education has the authority and responsibility to interpret this document, as well as to make changes as necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the Office and its staff. Supervisors are permitted to create stricter guidelines for individual staffs.
