Housing Online Selection FAQ

 


  • Do I have to complete an application/contract?
    • Yes. Every student has to review and submit their contract prior to being able to select a room. Applications are due by March 24 at midnight.
  • How do I request housing in a Greek or Themed community?
    • After you complete your housing application, click the button the says “Apply For Specialty Housing.” There you will find applications for all of the Greek and Themed communities. Greek and Themed Housing Applications are due March 7.
  • What if I need a Medical Housing Accommodation, like a medical single?
    • You should still fill out a housing application, but you’ll also need to submit a Medical Housing Accommodation Request Form and a Medical Housing Documentation Form. Both of these forms, along with an explanation of the process, can be found on the Disability Services website. Requests are due by March 24.
  • Why don’t I see a countdown after I log into Simple Campus Housing telling me when I can select my room?
    • Housing selection times will be announced on Friday, March 28. If you don’t see a countdown after March 28, then we did not receive your application. Please email housingselection@wagner.edu to follow up.
  • Why don’t I see a reserve button in a room I want?
    • You are only able to select rooms that are available for you to choose. If you do not see a reserve button, this room may have been taken by another student or it may be designated for a particular gender or class year that you don’t match.
  • The room I want to reserve is dark grey?
    • This means the room has been taken offline by Residential Education and is unavailable during room selection.
  • Why can’t I reserve a single room?
    • All single rooms are reserved for the Medical Housing Accommodation process, which continues into the summer for new students. If you would like to be placed on the wait list for a single room, email housingselection@wagner.edu. In the meantime, be sure to reserve a space in a double room. 
  • When I try and select a roommate that student is greyed out. Why?
    • Requested roommates must meet the same restrictions as you in order to live on a floor. If they do not, their name will be greyed out as unavailable. Also, if someone has a pending roommate request already or lives in another room, they cannot be requested as a roommate.
  • I selected a room but want to move. Is that possible?
    • Yes. Simply clicking on another room will allow you to move and select your roommates. Keep in mind if your roommates already accepted your request in the first room you will not be able to request them again until they also leave that space. You may change your room selection as many times as you like during your designated time period. After that period, room assignments are final and cannot be changed until the room change period in September.
  • Are there other students selecting rooms at the same time as me?
    • Yes, small groups of students are allowed to pick rooms simultaneously. All room selection happens in real time, so you are always seeing exactly what rooms are available via the floor layouts.
  • I received a roommate request email, but when I log into Simple Campus Housing I don’t see anything?
    • In order to respond to a roommate request you must first complete your housing agreement. Once this is complete, you will automatically be redirected to respond to this request.
  • How long does my roommate have to respond to my request? What happens if he/she doesn’t respond?
    • You have six hours to respond to a roommate request. Once this time has elapsed, the request will expire, and the bed will be available to other students. In some cases where you are required to fill a room completely, you will automatically be removed from the room and you must reselect a space. You will receive an email if this happens.
  • I had reserved a room, but I received an email saying I was removed. Why?
    • If a room requires all beds to be filled and your roommate either leaves or does not accept your roommate request, you will automatically be removed from that room. You must go back in and reselect if this happens. To avoid any issues, it would be a good idea to talk with your roommate prior to selection in order to make sure they will approve any request.
