Here are the guidelines for creating a new club or organization, abstracted from the SGA Constitution, Article VI. We have an example constitution that you can use as a guide to create your own – download here. If you have any questions at all, please contact email@example.com or the SGA President.
Section 1- SGA must approve each new student organization (academic and social), club, forum, religious or political group, etc.. This approval may only occur after the potential new group has submitted its constitution, a list of 10 members (with respective Student ID#), and name of advisor to the SGA President.
Section 2- Upon approval by the SGA President, the new group will be placed on the General Assembly meeting agenda and therein must be officially approved by the General Assembly’s 2/3 majority vote .
Section 3- If approved by 2/3 majority vote of the Club Congress, the organization representatives must meet with the Director of Co-Curricular Programs within 1 week.
