Education: B.A., University of California, Davis; M.F.A, University of California, Los Angeles.
Biography: Prof. McDonald is the Head of Voice at Wagner College Theatre in Staten Island, New York.
At Wagner College he has served as Dialect Coach for Sweeny Todd, Cabaret, Chess, Joseph…, The Three Musketeers, City of Angels, Titanic, The Diviners, and many others. For three years he was the resident Voice and Dialect Coach with The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, where credits include The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Rivals, Coriolanus, London Assurance, The Tempest, Comedy of Errors, and others. New York coaching credits include Guys and Dolls, Murdering Marlowe, The Bacchae, On the Verge, and This is not a Pipe Dream.
Directing work includes: Twelfth Night, Uncommon Women and Others, and Picasso at the Lapine Agile.
Regional acting credits: The Glass Menagerie, Arms and the Man, The Importance of Being Earnest,The Lower Depths and Hurly Burly.
Film: Sunset Park.
Television: Ned and Stacey.
As a writer and comedian, credits include the one-man show Lavender and the short film Scotty’s Big Day Off.
David holds an M.F.A. in acting from UCLA.
