John Casey is global head of PR and media relations for Publicis.Sapient, where he oversees digital business transformation PR and media strategies. One of the most well-rounded and experienced professionals in the business, John was previously with Havas PR U.S. He managed global PR work on behalf of the UN Foundation and the Nobel-winning UN IPCC for climate change, as well as a global campaign for Bloomberg Philanthropies and UN Special Envoy Michael R. Bloomberg. The climate team received the 2015 Golden Award from the International Public Relations Association, and the 2015 Silver Anvil Award for Issues Management from the Public Relations Society of America. Additionally, John was named a finalist for PR News’ Team Leader of the Year. The UNF–Havas team was a 2014–15 finalist for nearly two dozen national and international awards.
Prior to his award-winning work on climate change, John was a PR/media relations director with Toys "R" Us, Sears, Kmart, and Macy’s, and founder of Fresh Fluff, a Manhattan-based PR/social media agency. John is a former senior manager with international agencies Porter-Novelli and Ruder-Finn in New York, and served as a press secretary for a Pennsylvania Congressman on Capitol Hill for six years. John is also the co-author of the critically acclaimed children’s iPad book The House That Went on Strike. And, he was a producer on several films, including Qaddafi’s Female Bodyguards, Love Simple, and Asylum Seekers.
