Richard was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2013.  He is serving his second term which expires in 2018.  As a member of the board, Richard serves as vice chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and as vice chair of the Audit Committee.

Richard focuses his practice on a broad spectrum of complex litigation involving banking, UCC issues, regulatory matters, lender liability, fraud, defalcation and construction-defect matters.  Rick is co-managing shareholder of the firm's Miami and Aventura offices and past member of the firm's Board of Directors.  He also heads the firm's Florida litigation practice.

With more than 20 years of extensive litigation experience, Rick has represented lenders, developers and investors and high net worth clients, including The Hershey Company and TD Bank, N.A.  Rick also acts as counsel to a number of not-for-profit corporations for which he regularly provides corporate and business counsel as well as representation in connection with any litigation matters.

In addition to his legal practice, Risk serves as as elected member of the Board of Governors of the Sylvestor Comprehensive Cancer Center.  He is chair of Friends of Sylvester, a group of active, involved community leaders committed to the ongoing search for a cancer cure.  As chair, Rick oversees the organization's 350 member board.  After receiving his bachelor's degree from Pace University in 1980, he continued his education at Georgetown University in the School of Foreign Service, and then received his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1989.
