Media Literacy: Fall 2013 Course Pilots

Introduction

As a part of the Media Literacy for Teaching & Learning program, the Wagner College Provostʼs Office will award three innovative pilot course teaching incentives for Fall 2013. These awards, which can be individuals or pairs, will support the integration of media technology to support the teaching and learning goals of the course. Awardees will each receive a stipend of $1,500 along with skill building support and coaching from the Center for Teaching, Learning and Research and Wagner IT. Pilot course experience and documentation will be published and shared with the wider Wagner community.

Application Process

Application form for individuals or co-teaching pairs must be completed by May 17, 2013. Full and part-time faculty are invited to apply. Applications will be reviewed by the Media Literacy for Teaching & Learning committee.

Timeline

May 17, 2013 Applications due.
May 22, 2013 Awarded applicants notified.
Fall Semester 2013 Work takes place.
January 2014 Results shared with Wagner community.

Award Criteria

  • Focused idea integrating media technology to the teaching goals of a fall 2013 course
  • Creative, innovative, and original idea or unique adaptation of an existing plan
  • Media technology is appropriate and applicable to course and curriculum teaching and learning goals
  • Suggested readings, sites, and literature that inspire the proposal
