First-Year Application Requirements and Checklist

Please read all sections to which you may apply; the requirements for each program differ.

Deadline: November 15

The Early Action Plan is intended for high school students who have selected Wagner College as one of their top college choices. Interested students who submit their application and supporting documents before the December 1 deadline will be notified of a decision by January 15. Although Early Action applicants will receive an admission decision by January 15, please note that financial aid awards are issued beginning in late February to all admitted students.

Early Action is not an option for Physician Assistant, Theatre Performance and Theatre Design/Technology/Management majors. Students who are not admitted Early Action may be re-evaluated as regular admissions applicants.

Deadline: February 15

Students applying Regular Decision can begin to submit their applications in August; students are encouraged to apply early to give the admissions counselor ample time to review your application. At Wagner, each application is read at least twice. However, since Wagner does not have a rolling admissions process, admissions decisions will begin to be released in late February.

An international applicant is defined as a student who needs a visa to study in the United States. Please refer to the above categories for deadlines and other program-specific requirements.

Please be sure to submit all of the following items:
  1. Apply using the Common Application
  2. A personal statement/essay (included as part of the Common Application)
  3. Official copy of secondary school transcripts in original language of issue, accompanied by a certified English translation (if transcripts are not in English).
    • Records must show courses completed, grades or marks obtained, and certificate or degree awarded (if appropriate).
  4. Official standardized test scores
    • Minimum required TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE band score.
      • Required minimum TOEFL iBT score of 81; 550 for the paper-based test
      • Required minimum IELTS band score of 6.5
      • Required minimum Pearson PTE Academic score of 54

International Merit and Need-Based Scholarships at Wagner College

Wagner College offers both merit and need-based scholarships to international students which can range up to half the cost of tuition per year. Scholarship awards are made at the time of admission.

Trustees’ Scholarship

Thanks to the generosity of our Board of Trustees, Wagner offers a full tuition, room, and board scholarship to one international student per year. Recipients are students that have significant demonstrated need and have outstanding merit considerations.

 

Deadline: November 15

The Physician Assistant Program at Wagner is a 5 year BS/MS degree program. Because of the interview component to the admissions process, students are required to submit a completed application by November 15. The Admissions Office will conduct an academic review, and those students who pass the review process will receive an e-mail invitation for the on campus required interview with Physician Assistant faculty and current students. Details about the interview and an additional application supplement will be mailed at that time.

Please be sure to declare Physician Assistant as your major on your application. Students who do not declare PA as their major will be reviewed as Undecided candidates. Physician Assistant applicants are not eligible for the Early Action Plan.

The Theatre program at Wagner is a 4 year Bachelor of Arts program in either Theatre Performance or Design/Technology/Management. Because of the audition or interview component to the admissions process, students are required to submit a completed application by November 15. The Admissions Office will conduct an academic review, and those students who pass the review process will receive an e-mail invitation to the on campus required audition/interview.

Please be sure to declare Theatre Performance or Theatre Design/Technology/Management as your major on your application. If you list another major on the application, the Admissions Office will not know that you intend to audition or interview, and you will be reviewed as an Undecided student. Theatre Performance and Theatre Design/Technology/Management applicants are not eligible for the Early Action Plan.

The Music Scholarship is intended for any student, regardless of major, who wishes to pursue a music interest, either vocal or instrumental. Students need not major or minor in music to receive the Music Scholarship. To retain the scholarship, students are required to participate in an ensemble and take private lessons. To be considered, students must audition with the Music Department.
