Don Fox '64 was committed to supporting service-research projects
conducted by Wagner College faculty and students
Don Fox's major at Wagner was history, but he was quite fond of his professors from other departments. Political science professor Lincoln Harter "could really motivate students, and his lectures were excellent," said Don. "I also remember Virgil Markham of the English Department. When I was having difficulty, he helped get me through." Don considered giving to Wagner a payback of an IOU. He created the Fox Family Fund for the Advancement of Civic Engagement Scholarship to foster Wagner faculty and students' work on civic engagement projects. He said at the time, "When I sold my company (H.S. Fox Corporation), I put money aside and invested it to develop meaningful money for Wagner. I hope that it will be a boost to the faculty." Unfortunately, Don passed away in 2013, but his two sons, Alex and Graham, have continued the Fox Family Legacy and serve on the Board of Trustees of Wagner.
