Wagner College Guild
About Us
The Wagner College Guild celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018. The Guild is Wagner’s oldest organization and was formed by faculty wives to help provide support for the divinity students who were away from home pursuing their education. The Guild members provided transportation, sewed buttons and invited students back to their homes for a home cooked meal and a respite from their studies. Today, the Guild’s mission remains in many ways the same as it was over 100 years ago, with its members committed to assisting students in need. This includes The Lila T. Barbes ’40 Wagner College Guild Scholarship which is awarded to two students each year. As well as supporting the Make a Difference Fund, which provides immediate emergency financial assistance to students in need so that they may continue their education without interruption.
Join Us
The Guild hosts four luncheons each academic year – in October, December, April and June – as well as special members only events. Given the restrictions due to COVID-19, we have put our in-person get-togethers on hold. However, we are offering virtual Zoom events designed to inform, entertain and encourage fellowship in their place until it is safe to meet again. We welcome you to become a member and ensure that the Guild remains active and strong for the next 100 years. The 2020-2021 Annual Membership fee is $35 and is effective from September 1, 2020 – August 31, 2021. For more information, please contact Karen Kennedy at karen.kennedy@wagner.edu or 718-420-4530.
