Wagner finance major is secret agent in ‘The Infiltrator’

theinfiltratorA new motion picture tells the story of a Wagner College finance major’s career as a secret federal agent.

That may sound like the daydream of some Seahawk business student, dozing over a textbook while he crams for finals — but, believe us, it’s no fantasy.

In “The Infiltrator,” Bryan Cranston (of “Breaking Bad” fame) plays Grymes Hill alum Robert Mazur ’72, whose self-sacrificing undercover work was instrumental in the arrest and conviction of notorious Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar and the unscrupulous bankers who supported his criminal activity.

The film is based on Mazur’s 2009 true-life thriller, “The Infiltrator: My Secret Life Inside the Dirty Banks Behind Pablo Escobar’s Medellín Cartel.”

Mazur, a Staten Island native, graduated from Port Richmond High School before attending Wagner College. Named a 2010 Wagner Alumni Fellow in Business, Mazur was profiled in Wagner Magazine. Read more about him on our website.
